Spy Glass by Maria V Snyder

Spy GlassSpy Glass by Maria V. Snyder

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book. I'm not usually into romance books but because it was entwined with fantasy, it worked rather well.

Mind you saying that, I've never come across a character that seems to have so much going wrong all the time lol.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not usually my kind of book but I joined a Bookcrossing ring and added my name to the list. I am glad to say that I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in two sittings.

It follows a group of women who all have tragedies in their lives to the point that they all have to confront their past situations.

Very well written and worth reading.

Conjugal Rites by Paul Magrs

Conjugal Rites (Brenda 3)Conjugal Rites by Paul Magrs

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This has been my favorite so far in the series.

Brenda was made as a bride for Frankenstein and she thought she would never encounter him again but he turns up determined that she will marry him.

A good funny read inbetween reading heavier novels.

The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens-----SPOILER

The Old Curiosity ShopThe Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was my first Dickens book.

I did enjoy it although I thought parts were rather dragged out.

The characters were very rich and Dickens was very descriptive to the aforementioned.

I thought Quilp was a horrid little man!

The death of Nell was very disappointing though. I just thought there was something lacking although it was very sad!

I really loved it. Again, following the adventures and love life of Opal Cowan.

I really like the characters Devlin and Kade and can't wait to read the third and final part.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It was the first one I have read on my Kindle :-)

I loved the characters and the storyline.

It was unusual to be based around a female glass maker but that made it all the better. I thought the book was very well researched too.
